  • Onion bulbs

    I have some bulbs in the shed for planting but some have developed green shoots do I need to scrap them as I read they will just bolt ?

    What sort of onions were they? Autumn or spring planting sets?

          Get on with it then, they're sprouting because they want to start growing.

          I think you've confused "bolting". What you have is normal growth, they're just impatient to get going and have started without you.

          Bolting is premature flowering, which would be happening in a few months' time.
