  • Onion advice please!

Two weeks ago I sowed outdoors into a large grow bag filled with new compost, moistened, some onion Sturon f1 seed. There's not any sign of growth at all to date, is this a fail ? Should I use the bag/compost for something else or am I being impatient...? Oh yes, on the same day I also sowed some parsnip seed, they too are a no-show as yet, have I perhaps done these in the wrong month?
Carrots, lettuce, DGB & spring cabbage all doing nicely, sowed on the same day ...

Parsnips need a really long growing time, generally sown in April to May. They can be difficult to germinate. Are your parsnips in the grow bag? They need deep soil.
As for onions I know some people sow early for exhibition but I generally sow in January. Again they can be a bit slow.

Thanks again Wendy. Hmm, might just wait'n see with the onions then ...
The parsnips are in a deep grow bag (not a massive one though as I only wanted a few as only I eat them!)
