  • No buds or flowers on goosberry

I have a gooseberry bush that gave a good crop last year. This year still no buds or flowers which were on it this time last year. What could be wrong ?

Not really a lot of info to go on...Does it look healthy otherwise? Have you pruned it? A picture would help...

Yes, very healthy and no pruning. Last year it got a good attack of sawfly but came back again fine towards the end of last season.

Well, just one gooseberry on the whole bush. Last year we had a freezer drawer full. What on earth is the reason for this ?

I have fruit all over mine, so I would say something not right, unfortunately can't say what.

You've done better than me this year, loads of flowers but not one single fruit.
I wouldn't mind if it didn't looks so green and healthy, not even a hint of sawfly this year, but not one single fruit. Just one of those years I guess when no pollinating insects around at the time of flowering.
