Can believe it, at last - I went to water the greenhouse today and 4 of my aubergine plants have small flower buds, yippee!!!!!

Now we just need a Indian Summer.

Yippee!!Ours our still just foliage~but fairly attractive!!Cross my fingers with yours re the Indian Summer!

Yaaaaaaaay, well done to you. I've got two aubergine plants - one has one flower already blooming and a couple of more buds, but the other has 4 actual aubergines on it - 3 of em are fairly tiny at the moment, but one is about 5 or 6 inches long - I can't wait till its ready to eat Good luck with yours

mine didn't get past the 2 leaves coming out of the seed stage, then they all died, i love aubergines, am gonna try much earlier next year.

I can't get past the flowering stage.

3 flowers so far have all been and gone and then fallen off without an aubergine in sight. They flowered and then turned brown and fell off. I read somewhere that misting them helps and I tried that but it hasn't worked for me. The plant is in my greenhouse at the mo.

I have another 4 flowers on the plant.

Should I give up as a bad job or shall I keep going? Any advice would be welcome

Mine have yet to progress past the bud stage Russell, they've been hard work. I'm sure someone will be along in a moment to help you.

Um, possibly the flowers aren't getting pollinated, so are falling off because of that. Do you open the doors so insects can get in to pollinate, or would it be worth going round with a paintbrush???!

I only seem to have one sort of flower that I can see - how do i tell which flowers are male and which female.

The door is open but would it be worth putting the plant outside and then moving it back in at night?

Mine are just in the garden in my raised beds. I had four that I started off from seed, but only two have survived. I didn't do anything to them to encourage them to pollinate, they just kind of got on with it themselves (lucky for me as I wouldn't know what to do anyway )
