Something that actually kills whitefly on veg and a rust killer for my garlic and leeks. Again one that works.

To be fair to the boffins, there is a huge amount of research and development going on and more and more resistant varieties are coming to the market. As examples, we have club root resistant cabbages and cauliflower which is a godsend to those that couldn't previously grow these crops. We have carrot fly resistant carrots, blight resistant spuds. We even have white rot resistant onions. On my wish list would be a request for mildew resistant varieties of peas for exhibition and a way of making my exhibition onions white rot resistant.

I'd like to see a new strain of grass which will only grow a max of 2" high ( thinking of something similar to dwarf root stock in fruit trees)- and is drought resistant.

I could then spend more time in the veg plot!

Golden Bear and Santero are described as highly tolerant of downey mildew, botrytis and white rot. I grew Golden Bear this year and lost two white rot. I have previously posted about using calliente mustard to treat the plot so I can't say whether that did the job or the onions really are resistant on their own.

I've grown Golden Bear and they are a good onion in their own right............even without the whiterot resistance!
I personally wouldn't change a thing that Mother nature has to offer as I like to think that everything has a purpose in life.
I get a kick out of experimenting and trying to work with nature rather than having everything come up perfect in the plot every year, or having some boffin sort a problem for me.
Its all these, setbacks, tribulations and jubilations that make veg growing the interesting hobby it is!

I'd like a fruit tree that only had fruit at a level that I can reach from the ground, without a ladder - 6' max. I don't mind how high the rest of the tree grows.

I have cordon apples and pears trained down the edge of my plot which are stopped at about 5 feet high!
