  • Nervously Sowing Brassicas?

I've just been looking at some kale and cauliflower plants. They're about a fiver for 16 and delivered ready for planting in August and September respectively. Do you think if I sowed seed now I could grow my own plants? I really ought to know by now, but you'll remember I was scared of brassicas from seed, but from the spring sowing kale, cabbage, cauliflower and calabrese I am harvesting now. I just need another injection of confidence if you've got one please?

you've got nothing to lose by sowing now - just choose the right varieties for sowing now - i sowed a load of cauliflower and PSB a couple of weeks ago after losing all the brassicas to pigeons and the hot dry weather

Thanks for that, I sowed some All Year Round cauli last night and have sent for some more brassica seed that I will sow at the weekend. I think sometimes you just have to have the courage of your convictions!
