  • Need Tall Climbing Peas - What varieties are there?

Ok so although I don't have kids, I've been approached to design and sculpt the local Nursery's garden. So far its going very well but I would really like some peas that could grow over our archway.

All the seeds I'm finding in my local garden centres are all short varieties so could anyone please give me an idea of varieties I could source?

Currently Im growing everything in cells from my own seed stocks so it saves the nursery money, unfortunatly it means I have to go and buy everything all over again and start all over again for my own garden.

I think my own garden will suffer for my 'art' this year..... *sigh* Think I have to learn to say no!.... x

Ditto to all those. If it's for sprogs, the purple podded pea will be of great interest. The pods make a great wine also. Cheers, Toiny.

          Hi Victoria,

You could also consider climbing French beans or Borlotto beans. Try an heirloom variety like Cherokee Trail of Tears which has an interesting but very sad history.

Couple of links for you : Great Vegetable Seeds from The Real Seed Catalogue and http://www.thomasetty.co.uk/seeds/veg-flower-2012.pdf
