  • Mycorrhizal and Potatoes

Has anyone tried MF with seed potatoes? If my increases root growth will this equate in a bigger crop?

What about MF with onions and garlic?

    Any thoughts?

It's an interesting thought. I certainly have have had good results when transplanting fruit canes and bushes. The instructions are clear in saying the granules must be in contact with the roots of the plants. Seed potatoes don't have roots so I don't know whether the fungi would persist in the soil until there are roots. It can be quite pricey so might be worth investigating any increased yield versus the cost of the granules. Little experiment for next year?

I find Mycorrhizal fungi expensive, so wonder if it would be justified on a "cheap" crop like Spuds?

Would be helpful to know how much difference it made to yield though
