  • My Plot This Morning..!

Yes..!..woke up to yet more snow, ive had enough now, like most of you on here I expect...didnt stop me from doing things though, tidied up the Strawberry planter, getting rid of the dead leaves and managed to get some more digging done as the ground was quite soft believe it or not. Were you all very productive or was the the weather too bad in your parts..?..I have enclosed a few pics as I take my phone with me all the time.

    Cheers
    braders...

Well done Braders, glad to see someone has got some motivation. I was up at 5 this morning but apart from feeding the hens I didn't do anything outside.
2 weeks time I will move the hens run over and thats when I can get started, I have planted a few seeds though.

        Keep up the good work,

        James

Managed to get there for the first time in a fortnight.... the soil is so wet that it's foolish to stand on it..... thankfully the paths I put in (freecycled slabs) allowed me to sort out barrowing in some leafmould (council delivers for free), potting up some Aldi fruit bushes, grabbing some soil to put in pots in the GH to start a few really early spuds in, picked a some leeks and a few sprouts (been a disaster this year but my fault), checked the assorted garlics (softneck, hardneck and elephant), checked the wacky onions (potato, egyptian tree and catawissa) and planted out a bed of broad beans I've cracked in the GH over the last couple of weeks.... Wish I could start oing before and/or after work but weather forecast this week is horrible.....

Did anyone else's raised beds have the snow melt before other areas? I was quite encouraged by this as it should mean the soil will warm up quicker.

...well you know how we all love to moan about the weather!!!

We have friends in the north of Sweden- just below the Arctic Circle...their garden is under 3m snow!!!!!
I did try to phone them to brag about our first crocus, but they're out on their lake with their skidoos!!!!

                ...crocus/skidoos????...hmm- think they win!!!!
