  • My onions look like they have rust

I popped down the allotment yesterday and noticed what looks like rust on my onions.

what should I do? Is it best to pull them up now or should I leave them be?

    any help would be grand.

Dont pull them up. Show us a picture and we will see how they look.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

its all ok, been up the allotments and have been advised to cut the infected leaves of and burn them.

oh and they where garlic.... fancy getting them mixed up...
ive been told that it wasn't anything ive done wrong, its just been that kind of spring.

My garlic has rust too, it gets it every year whatever I do. I'm not worried, it doesn't seem to affect the crop much; the garlic will be ready to lift in another month anyway. I just leave them to it apart from taking off any dead leaves while weeding.
