  • My garlic has come up!

I was very excited ad I was just about to give up on it.. planted back in october! Was sure they had rotted away.

The shoots are just poking up, all green and shiny - cool!

Congratulations, what varieties are you growing? This is my first year growing garlic and I'm doing 7 different varieties and some did take a lot longer than the others to show up. Chesnok was the last one to show for me.

Great Janeyo. Mine only appeared about 2 weeks ago and I was beginning to wonder about it as it usually comes up pretty sharpish. Guess it's just been a cold winter has held it back.
I grow Melody which is a Scottish winter hardy variety grown in Nairn (right up North).
It makes lovely big juicy cloves and stores well.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

                      i was worried at first..

i know they need a period of cold weather to initialize flowering a bit like tuilp bulbs i guess ... i germinated the cloves indoors in the coldest room in the house, and then i just took all of them outdoors..
