  • My first radish of 2009

A bit sad really, but I this is the first thing I've harvested from a sowing this year, so I was pretty excited.
They were planted on 6th Feb, germinated inside until just breaking the surface, then immediately put into the cold greenhouse, followed by a cold plastic growhouse, which has been opened up on the warmer days.
I think I'll pull them at Easter really, but this was just a test, still a little small, but delicious.

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
    Now a little Shrinking Violet.

I don't think anyone here would regard you as sad, we can all understand the excitement. I've been eyeing up some radishes I've planted in a through in the greenhouse for a few days

      Nice Radish :-)

I am growing my first Radishes this year, French Breakfast. I have been surprised at their rate of growth.

If that's sad there is no hope for me. Was seriously wondering if I could harvest enough 2cm salad leaves to make a sandwich yesterday. Would have been the first harvest of my New Allotment.Sooo tempted, but managed to resist
        Do it! Life's too short

I keep thinking about sowing some radish but keep forgetting. Always seems to be something else needs sowing or planting. Have some black spanish and mooli for winter radish but to early to sow them yet.

I have been thinking about using my rocket seedlings and using them like cress in a sarnie, they still only have their seed leaves! my french brekkie hasnt broken through yet, but mine are sown directly outside guess i will have to wait a little longer for my mini radish.
