    i have just picked my first big harvest
    cauliflower
    runner beans
    french beans
    cucumber
    carrots

    what a great feeling when you have an armful of freash veg lovely jubbly
    i have had a battle with butterflys and catapillars ,when i cleaned the cauli's there where two types of catapillers one small light green,and one was very much bigger and a brown colour.

      Well done. Aren't caterpillars sneaky!! I always make sure I give my cabbage a really good soak/wash before cooking.

          Well done! Good luck with the caterpillars. I was scared to death of some last year - they turned out to be Elephant Hawk Moth. Very aptly named, as I was scared to handle them due to the size of their jaws!

          All harvests bring a new wave of pleasure, I think. I've been feeling despondent of late, but I was soooo cheered up yesterday afternoon when I went-a-harvesting!

            I have just had my first harvest too -lettuce,toms,chard,calabrese,cauliflower,peas,cukes,beans,spuds&onions!
            Feels great doesn't it! and yummy!! I love the feeling of knowing that the majority of food on my plate I grew!
