  • My First Brocolli... What do i do with it?!

    Hi All,

So far our first year of GYO in pots has been going well, with a few hints and tips (well all our knowledge) came from this forum so thank you all!

My question... I have attached a photo of our first 'floret?' of brocolli. It is right at the top and tiny other ones seem to be growing from where the leaf stems come out from the main stem. What do we do with the top one? Let it keep growing or chop it off? If we chop it off will that make the other ones grow better?

Any help is appreciated... we just keep staring at it in awe!

On another note we have tiny little Mangetout and snap peas coming out now!

    Thank you!

Chop it off and eat it. More will come.

Yes, pick and cook lightly, then melt some butter over it - enjoy and wait for the sideshoots to produce some more for you.
