    Moving plot - help please

    Hello all

    I have managed to get a better plot on my site and need some advice on how to move my asparagus bed. The plot I am on is quite shady so jumped at the offer of a nice sunny plot now am in a bit of a panic as lots to do just at the start of abusy time - what have I done!!!

    Anyway my asparagus has just reached yrs and now I need to move it. Shall I just dig it up as carefully as possible and place in a new bed (will I need to do all that mounding up?) and will it be OK? If not seems a lot of work.

    Also want to take my raspberries, globe artichoke and strawbs - all worth taking a risk on or best to replace new?

    Get that asparagus moved as soon as ........I moved mine onto a new plot this time last year and it still sprouted (although it wasn't old enough to cut) I dug a trench and plnted it on mounds in the trench then filled it in , worked ok for me

      When do you have to be out of the old plot? Is anyone new taking it over yet?

        I too am in the process of moving plot. Have managed to negotiate hanging on to half my current plot until I've harvested the current crops (brocolli etc) am intending to move fruit except for strawberries which are due for renewal anyway. Suddenly there's a lot to do... I would move what you can, it's probably worth the risk.

          Zazen - I have til the 19th March. Not long when I work - just hope the weather stays dry. I will be there soon as to get my beloved asparagus in to new plot. The new plot needs quite a bit of tidying up before I can move over but not too bad. This will make me clear the shed out too as a bit of a hoarder!!!
