  • Is this moth going to cause me trouble

    Hi all,

    I need a bit of ID help please.This lovely moth is currently sitting in my toms in the greenhouse.I dont see any damage on the plants,but im hoping it wont lay any eggs and destroy everything

    Any ideas

    that's an elephant hawkmoth.

    It's caterpillars eat willowherb (a weed) and sometimes fuchsias

        I agree with Two Sheds, its an "Elephant Hawk Moth " they feed on the wing, on honeysuckle, and other tubular flower. there habitat is woodland margins, parks, open countryside, but do visit gardens (obviously cos you've got one ), they shouldn't do any damage,( lovely moth though)
