  • Morrisons Flower buckets for veg?

I have already got 10 with potatoes growing happily.

Just bought some "patio veg" seeds.

Parsnip "Lancer" and carrot "ideal", it says pot 12 - 18" diameter, but if I grow fewer d'you reckon they would thrive in the buckets?

They are varieties suited to container growing

I'm doing chantanay carrots in flower buckets this year for the first time. The first lot have germinated and are looking good so far.
          come visit a garden

I cleaned the kitchen and found 3 10 litre paint tubs that I shall be using for carrots.

I use them in the greenhouse for tomatoes and cucumbers and usually have a brilliant crop.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

This may sound stupid........but do you buy these buckets from Morrisons? If so, how much are they and how big?

Is this a northern thing? I drove 30 minutes to my nearest Morrisons tonight (peckham) and they had nothing. All their flowers were in green buckets and when I asked one of they staff she looked at me like I was mental.

I get mine from asda. If you can sweet talk them sometimes they're free! They are normal bucket size like what you'd have at home for cleaning. Make sense?

They cost 99p ...it says on the label 8 but we got 13 in one batch and 10 in another. Some are 10" diameter and 11" deep others are slightly smaller.

I was hoping they would be big enough to grow sweet peppers in.I haven't grown these before so don't know how much space they need. I would be glad of some advice?
