    Minicole cabbage

    My 78 yr old lottie neighbour has only 11 plants germinate from 2 packs of minicole cabbage. Says its too late to resow. My question is it it? (we are in Northumberland? If not does anyone have any seed? Or if anyone local, does anyone have spare plants? Or recommend another cabbage small heads thy may mature quicker?

    I don't think it's too late, considering how late everything else is this year! However, perhaps you could keep your eye out for some plug plants to replace them with? Maybe 'Primo' which are small-ish although not quite as small as Minicole.

      I was going to suggest Primo. Ihad poor germination to start with from these, but I think the seed packet was really quite old. Kings do the seed as that's where I got mine from. I do have 5 spare plants but I'm nowhere near you and have promised them to my sister. (Even though she killed off the last ones I gave her!)

        How about sowing a normal sized cabbage, but much closer together - doesn't that make them grow smaller?

          Thx? Took a chance and sown mini cole, tho at £3.16 a packet expensive point to make to the 78 yr old man, that it wasn't too lay to sow intend on giving him some, if mor than 11 germinate
