What sort are they? They may not be a variety that grows larger than 2"

Whereabouts are you Funkyflowerpot? My first Sungold has turned orange today - so I think it's a matter of patience.

I don't think they ripen unless they're fully grown do they? Are they in pots? How often are you feeding them. Our toms in the ground are romping away, but the ones in pots are limping along behind, but slowly getting there.

I have had 4 red tomatoes so far, the rest are still stubbornly staying green at the moment. Still plenty of time though.

I have tomatoes grow to very different sizes on the same plant but that have all ripened so I don't think they have to be "fully grown" to ripen.

2" diameter could be a good size, depending on the variety you're growing.

I have only had marmande, red cherry and black cherry ripen so far. No other varieties yet.

Ok so you spotted my deliberate mistake!
I meant to say they STAY green & are not going RED!
Sorry, brains gone rusty!!
I had a variety mix so have no idea what is what but they are planted directly into the ground in the GH.

I haven't had any ripe toms yet - they're all staying green

But they will ripen and it will be worth the wait, believe me

Great, thanks VC. It's reassuring to hear I'm not the only one.
My 6 year old daughter is the only one who eats tomatoes but I have loads growing as I'm making sauces & chutneys for birthday & Xmas pressies!

Yeah, I mean to whatever full size they want to grow to. I mean if they come off the plant before they've reached the size they should be. Not sure how this is determined, but I'm sure I read that somewhere. Might not be true...

Oh I see what you mean. If you pick them before they are ready they won't ripen. Don't know. I picked loads of green tomatoes at the end if the season last year and a lot did ripen indoors so I don't know!

Yes, just to add that I have only green toms as well.
I am down in the south east and have three varieties, some in the conservatory and some in the garden.
