hi folk..with out soundin dum lol i want to make me own mushy peas..how do i get marrow fat peas plz...thanks

In a packet form the supermarket and I think you have to soak em for a while with a tablet that is inside the pack.. -
You grow marrowfat peas....to get marrowfat peas.

have I read on another thread that some people tried planting the dried marrowfats from the supermarket? I thought I'd seen that somewhere on the vine, but maybe I'm mistaken.

I've grown lentils, chick peas, pinto beans, red beans - large and small from a soup mix.....I can't see why any pulse wouldn't grow...whether it produces a crop is another matter but marrowfat peas seem like just the type to trial....not for me though, I've got loads of them that I am growing for the HSL trial and there's only so much mushy peas we could cope with.

Yes you can grow the dried peas from the supermarket, just don't use the quick soak peas.Comment

where have you all found these peas? When i was back in engerland last two times i searched for the damn things just to eat and the supermarkets in se london do not have them.............Comment

I am growing Hugh's Huge and Simpson's special for the HSL trials [I have now found my paperwork]...I can send some over to you for trying and for next year....I can send some Lancashire lad seeds from Flum that I am growing this year but these are purple and make purple mushy peas......I have a few left over.Originally posted by Jardiniere View Post
