| Hi Can anyone tell me the name of a spade that someone lent me last year to dig my potato trenches? (they have moved on now and taken the spade with them!) It had a heart shaped blade set at an angle and the shaft was about 5 foot plus tall. It made the digging of trenches very easy and meant you didn't have to bend your back. If any one knows what they're called/and where I may buy one I'd be grateful as I'm planning on putting my spuds in next weekend and want to leave the Fiery Jack in the medicine cupboard! Ellie |

| I've seen them described as entrenching tool and peat spade, or long handle spade. Any farming supplier will have them cheaper than a garden or DIY centre Get Digging - Tools for the Allotment and Garden
