Does anyone know if my little gem lettuce is ready to be harvested? I planted it on the 16th Feb.

If you need a lettuce I'd pick it
I treat all my lettuce plants as 'cut and come again' just taking a leaf or two from each plant until i have enough lettuce. That way seems to work out fine for me.

I do the same Bren,that is when I plant them in the ground,looks like the current bach will be cut from the moduls,
IF you wish to have some with a heart,leave a few to grow on,and pick leaves of off others,nothing nicer than home grown,the taste is so much better,oh and enjoy yours,sigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of theseComment

Thanks. I think I will do that then instead of just taking the whole lettuce out of the ground.

Eaten all ten of my little gems, just planted out another batch from modules. It's great lettuce, so small sweet and quick. I'm a sweet heart man myself... ( not in the musical theatre sense you understand...)Last edited by Richard Eldritch; 15-05-2014, 06:44 PM.Hussar!Comment
