  • list of planting time

hi just wondered if there is a list to tell you when to plant your veggies out, i never know when Brussels sprouts should go out and lots of other veggies, it would be helpful if there was a list i could print off and put in my diary.
    thanks

The guides that BM has linked to are really useful, but remember that your best guide is the weather - if you know when is the last frost date in your area, you can sow anything frost tender about 3 weeks before, then harden off in the days before planting out.

Thank you very much this is brilliant i have copied it and i will keep it in my folder.
now i have no excuse for getting it wrong.
i have a very good neighbour who loves her garden also and she is very helpful, but i don't want to keep asking her loads of questions, so i am glad that i have found this site, so i can ask on here instead.
        thank you again

Rita have a look at this site :-

Gardening and weather - first and last frost dates in the UK, Australia and USA

after selecting where you live it gives you info on frost dates and when to plant.

That info is on the seed pack, but you need a bit of experience too. Experience, of course, comes with practise.

You need to harden seedlings off before they go to the Big Outdoors.

Me, I plant out when it's warm enough for my old bones (I don't need to be planting out in the sleet, not at my age); and when the gh is too full to get anything else in; and when the seedlings look big enough & tough enough to fight off a slug

You must know your last frost date, for tender plants. Do not even be tempted to think you can get away with planting out (non-hardies) before that date, even if you're working in a tee shirt and the sweat is pouring off your head.
