    Limiting Aubergine Flowers?

    Hi
    Should I limit the number of flowers on my aubergine plants only I now seem to be getting a large number of fruits growing?

    Some people do this with plants but I generally find that they self regulate and when they're producing as many fruits as they want then no more come. Make sure you give it a good feed every week though or it'll soon get sapped of energy.

        Yes, that's fine, good for any fruiting plants like toms, peppers and aubergines.

          Lucky you I have had a flower and it dropped off leaving a pea sized aubergine, and I thought great I am finally going to get an aubergine. But alas no, after 5 weeks the aubergine is still only pea sized. The only consolation is that it hasn't dropped off yet. Someone did mention the other day that light levels gan affect growth so they have now been moved out of the greenhouse into full sun.

            lol, I just put mine back into the greenhouse...my thinking was [ and I'm probably wrong...] that if cucumbers and aubergines like hot humid conditions, they can go in together with the peppers and chillis and fill the void left by my blighty tomatoes..

              I can never get my aubergines to set fruit in the greenhouse and this year have a couple in pots in the conservatory and they're doing great guns.

                I had loads set during the hot spell and when it turned, nothing set (even in the greenhouse!). Presuming it has to be consistently hot for them to set.

                  Mine are all outside in pots bar one which is in a mini greenhouse, interestingly that's the only one that hasn't set fruit!

                    I also had lots of flower drop when they were inside, but now my mum has put them out in the garden where the bees can get at them and they're loaded with little aubergines.
