    Licorice!

    Hello,

    Has anyone tried to grow Licorice? I've seen seeds for sale on ebay and also this company who sell pot grown plants (but not at the moment)

    Yorkshire Liquorice plants from Brandy Carr Nurseries in Wakefield, England

    From googling it seems it takes a long time before you can harvest. I'm interested in having a go but it's firmly on the "future projects" list!

    Wow, that takes me back over 40 years when we went to pictures, we use to call into the corner shop & buy some liquorice sticks. They were like twigs but tasted better than the black stuff.

      They still sell the sticks in my local shop also great for cleaning your teeth with the fibres.

        I remember those - liquorice root - do you think they would grow, Wrex - or is it too far gone by the time you buy it?

          May be worth a go, but I would not bet the house on it.

          I remember getting a dried bit of a Yucca branch once, put it in a pot and it did grow.

            liquoice root is widely available in health food shops but is dried and unlikely to grow.
            don't be afraid to innovate and try new things
            remember.........only the dead fish go with the flow

              It is propagated by root cuttings though! (say I over-optimistically!)
