| I have quite a few packets of lettuce seed which I have used over the year. About two/three weeks ago I sowed 4 rows direct into the ground, all different varieties and suppliers and they had all worked previously. Not one has appeared. I know they don't like heat but could the wet weather have affected them. Also they have a wire grill over them so no birds/cats could get to them. Any ideas where they went, Spain perhaps ? Jimmy |

| Not lettuces, they are so delicate that if they get them, you won't see any stalks - try sowing into modules and transplanting once they are a few inches high. You'll have to use slug protection even then - you'd be surprised how excited they get at soft food this time of year.
