  • Leek rust

    Went down the plot at the weekend and discovered all my leeks are rusty! Is it worth leaving them in the ground or should I start eating them now? They aren't very big - most of them still aren't much thicker than my finger - not a very successful crop.

    mine are rusty as well note to self by rust-resistant variety next year

    I will just leave mine to grow on, the new leaves tend to be ok later in the winter, and it doesn't seem to affect the part you eat anyway

      Mine usually get rust but they still do just fine. This year no rust - probably as we have had no rain. This year they bolted.

        Mine are also covered in rust down the lottie.. i pulled one and stripped away the outer leaves and the stem is fine and was great in a stirfry.Will just leave em til i need em.
