  • LED grow lights

    Has anybody used/using them ??

have some chilli seeds in the prop and to give them all the best i can i'd like to give them a bit more light
i don't want to go mad and saw on ebay they do 30x30cm panels with red/blue LED's for £20 odd but as they are allot cheaper than other alternatives didn't want to start off by wasting money

If you have a desk lamp or two you could try using daylight bulbs in them - it's what I do, but I only have one 58cm heated prop to cover/light.

I use the energy saving daylight bulbs too, Energy Saving Light Bulbs | Cheap Offers and Deals on Low Energy Bulbs - is the site I get mine from. I did used to buy the 2 part bulbs, thinking it would be cheaper to just replace the coil, but they didn't have the replacements in so I'd just go for the one part bulbs now. Get the highest wattage you can, I haven't had any problems overheating in the desk lamps as the energy saving bulbs give out less heat than conventional bulbs.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Gives me an idea...SWMBO has a tapestry loom/frame thing which has an angle poised light with daylight bulb...I may have to acquire it (queue mission impossible music)
