  • Lazy cabbage

    Hello,

With my brassicas, instead of starting in a seed bed and then transplanting, I'm considering direct planting under a bottle cloche, thinning the germinated seedlings in situ. What are the pros and cons of doing it this way? Does anyone use this method?

    Thanks!

    Cons: slugs.
    they will get in.

Myself, I sow into modules, and plant the cabbages out when they are bigger than the slugs. No thinning required.
