Can I plant a small bagful of chitted early potatoes which I grew last year or is it a very bad idea-I am sure I read it is a bad idea but it seems a shame to just throw them when thay have been merrily chitting away on their own!

I've also heard it was a bad idea but I missed the boat this year for buying seed potatoes and last years were chitting away nicely in the shed so last weekend I popped them in the ground

Same here,had some chitting so put them in buckets on feb 14th,and they have been earthed up twice and foliage now popped up again and growing nicely.Put some more in buckets last weekend.Not sure what they will produce,but as they had chitted thought may as well give them a go.I have only ever used seed potatoes before so will have to wait and see!!!Comment

If you stick em in containers they are self contained and cannot contaminate anything if the worse comes to worse!
