  • Last years leek and chard...

I still have some that never got potted on that have stayed miniture and endured all the snow....

do you think they could be planted on now and go on to be productive? I have a tray of leeks which never got quite to pencil thick... more than pencil lead thick tho I have about 4 chards stuck in the small cell trays. I'm amazed that they have made it over winter!

Can I save them? I'd love to be able to save the leeks, I never seem to have much luck with them, even the ones I planted out on time

Leeks will grow but only to go to seed as they are biennial. Probably the same with the chard.Still you could always save your own leek seeds.

Thanks Ian I've got limited space to grow, so you've just saved me from wasting space with them

I might put a couple of leeks in a tub in a corner as an experiment
