  • Last sow date for Dwarf French Beans under a frame

I have just removed my plastic frame from around my courgettes.
Also just collected shallots so have some spare ground.
Was thinking of plonking frame where shallots where and sowing some Dwarf French Beans.
Is it too late for in a frame, what's latest date ?
    Thanks
    Jimmy

You might be ok if you can keep them disease free. Last year I tried dwarf beans in a bucket sown in August, which I brought into the greenhouse in mid October, but although they were in flower by the time they were brought inside, they soon went mouldy (botrytis) and died.

If you are going to try this I would suggest giving the plants a head start by sowing them in pots indoors and planting out when they have a couple of true leaves. This way you will avoid them being nibbled by slugs until they are big enough to cope.
