  • Kale question

Obviously a newbie question, but.... when kale starts flowering is it about to go to seed? And what, if anything, can be done with it?

Once it's flowering it's about had it. You could let it go to seed though for next year.

Once it has started flowering the plant is more or less past it. You could cut off the flowering bit (fairly well down) and hope for more side shoots I suppose

Although if it's flowering at this time of year then I wouldn't want to save the seed as the plants from that are likely to have the same habit

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
