  • Illicet Chilli

The other day I was walking through a winter garden where in amongst the floral display Chilli peppers had been used to great effect. I noticed a couple of chillis had fallen from a couple of plants, so I picked them up and slipped them in my pocket.

Although I dont know the variety my intention is to plant the seeds from them, but first I need to ask a question.

Are there any types of chilli that are poisonous

This is the link to a similar question asked a while ago, Jilly - I think the advice was not to eat them if you aren't sure.

Have you a picture of them Jilly, I'm not sure any chillies are poisonous, but they might just not taste very 'hot/good'?

      Para near bottom of page:

"There is a misconception that ornamental varieties of chilies are poisonous. There is no truth to that. All capsicum species are edible..."

I know you got them for nowt and they are a bonus but............If I was you I would have a look at google images to find a similar chilli...........you never know they may be cheap as chips to buy!

At least that way you would know all about the chilli you were growing!
