Can anyone identify this plant? it grew in a pot in a greenhouse that I thought I had planted a tomatoe in. It became obvious very early that it wasnt a tom, but, as I hadn't a clue what it was, I decided to let it grow thinking I would recognise it later, Its now 3 feet high, and I still haven't a clue

Sorry, I don't have a clue either but I suspect it is a weed of some sort making the most of the TLC you are giving it.

I'm not great at flowers, but until someone comes along who is, try this for size: I think that it might be a physoloides or shoe fly plant - if it is, it has lovely blue/purple flowers and then seed heads a bit like a cape gooseberry, or tomatillo.

I had one appear at the Hill last year in the front flower border.

the leaves certainley look very similar. I hadn't intentionally tried to go flowers, I wonder if its possible for a stray seed to end up in the wrong packet?

They are often grown in greenhouses, so it's possible some seed got mixed in with tomato seeds
