  • Identifying pea seed

I'm not sure anyone will be able to help, but here goes. I grew Clarkes Betony Blue peas and some seed just labelled Purple Podded seed. The problem I have is that, although I labelled them, the sun bleached the writing. Both had bicoloured flowers and purple podded peas. I've saved the seed, but I don't know which is which. Any ideas from the pictures below?

I think I've successfully identified serpette peas (small, white, round seed, green pods), latvian (speckled peas, green pods), and if I've got those right, the others must be alderman.

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

I think the ones on the right are the Clarkes Belthony Blues

Ive been growing blauwschokker (purple podded) and the seeds I harvested look like the ones on the right!

Maybe Zaz will know as she goes through hundreds of seeds?

LOL weird! I grew both this year and it was just something about the shape, as well as the colour, of those on the right that made me think they were the CBB.

Lets hope Zaz is good at 'spot the difference'

Yep lol, I too was judging it on the colour and size as my purple podded seeds have been a darker colour and bigger than the rest!

I can't help with identifying the pea seed themselves but there are several easy ways to identify the faded writing of inks

I hate to be the one to state the obvious, but they're like two peas in a pod Somebody had to say it and at least I've done it before VC comes along I hope Zaz can confirm for you BS
