Tomatillos, 2plants last uyear. massive crop, great for salsas and chutneys and chilli.

I have a packet of Sea Kale seeds to try this year, they will go in next to my Asparagus bed after being raised to a reasonable size in the greenhouse.

i grew sea kale last year, but they only got a few inches tall and now seem to have disappeared altogether, so growing to a reasonable size in the greenhouse seems a good idea.

In answer to the original question, I also grew oca last year (oxalis tuberosa) and they are tasty and easy to grow - they are cute knobbly little tubers and you can also eat the leaves in salads.

I would go for rainbow chard just started growing this a couple of seasons ago and find it a great veg. that lasts from one year to the next

Cardoon (Cynara cardunculus) easiest veggie I have ever grow here. It looks like an artichoke, but the flavour is totally different.
