  • I have a courgette!

Now I am well known for being the only person in the UK for never having a glut of courgettes! Today I harvested my first green one! Even OH who is ambivalent to say the least about courgettes said it looked healthy! I have 5 plants, 2 green and 3 yellow. Lots of flowers so I have my fingers crossed that this might be my year!

I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

5 plants????..lets hope it's not as successful as my 9 plants!!!

      It's a wonderful feeling though isn't it????

I love my yellow ones- they're that bit sweeter and the skins are less tough aren't they???...

I tried one plant as an experiment this year, will certainly be growing many more next year - I harvested two last week and they were fabulous!

I got a little carried away sowing courgettes this year and have 12 or 13 growing outside. The glut is just about to kick off and I'm going on holiday on Monday - I have no idea what I'm going to do with all of them when we get back.

I've two courgette plants fruiting +1 that hasn't fruited (possibly because the borage, not matter how I cut it back, keeps covering it, and even though the borage grins under constant buzzing of bees, the courgette doesn't fruit even though it's right there with the borage).

Plus two more that are a bit behind the others - one has a little green courgette starting, the other is a yellow courgette and I can't wait for it to fruit.

                    Go courgettes!

i only have 2 plants, both smothered in flowers but there has only been 1 courgette so far, although there are two more developing now - now my mum on the other hand has had tons of the bloody things of her plants!
