Thanks Nicos. Rather worrying that it all seems to be about feeding them to chickens - was hoping I'd be eating it! Still, next doors hens could be happy & I might get a few eggs my way...Another happy Nutter...Comment

No no no! I'm growing it for me AND the chickens!
We were discussing whether it would only be fit for the hens but the unanimous verdict was that it is delicious!
So we humans get the unopened flower spears along with some young and tender leaves, the chooks get the bigger,tougher leaves and the wild birds feast on the seeds.
A good all rounder then...not just chook fodder!Comment
