How're your Aubergines doing ?

Hi Flobalob - wow looks amazing...my 1 large plant is ur size I had 2 flowers and both fell off. Now I can see more flowers so will have to wait and see. My large plant is outside in a grow bag (that was sent by T&M for poratoes) and my greenhouse is too small for it so will have to leave it there and see what happens. I

think I have too many large leaves..can I cut few of these so the bees can find the flowers t polinate?

Hi Reks
I would leave the leafs as they are. I hand pollinate mine with a small eye shadow brush..
Lots of warmth/heat + I spray weekly seaweed extract. They sit in a large shallow tray which I also water to create a littel humidity.
Tomatoe feed once a fornight/10 days if I can remember.

I'm growing 2 just because I had seeds, but I'm running out of greenhouse soon so they might be put outdoors for the rest of the summer. Flowers just starting to show.

Mine are growing well - I've eaten one already & another about ready to harvest & some smaller ones on the way. From two plants - they are a purple stripey variety (Listadia de Gamba or something like).

My aubergines look just like yours. I have about 7 fruits growing from my 2 plants. :-) This is a dwarf variety.

mine are still fairly small and will soon be potting the on to their final spot. Are I too far behind with them to get anywhere this year?

Having never grown them before I am not sure what to put them in? If I use a growbag how many could I put in one..two? three? If I pot them how big should the pot be.

Having seen how big some of my tomatoes/tomatillos have grown I am really not sure how big these plants grow!

I've had one each from two stripy plants, they have 3/4 each forming still about golf ball size atm. And about 10 so far from two baby aubergine plants. I'm a bit disappointed with the size of them though, they are very small - sorta ping pong ball sized, I though they'd be a little bigger.

Mine were in 7" pots when they started producing but I've planted them out now, two in a trough, one in the ground and one in a 12" pot. Both types are about 18" but quite bushy.

Well I've had none so far!! All but one are outside. Loads of flowers but no sign of fruit yet.

Very pleased with mine this year - I only planted two pots as the last three years have been failures, all flowers and no fruit.

This year is different, sowed Moneymaker F1 and have at least 12 fruit set with many more flowers to go. The two big ones will be cooked on Saturday

I have 3 plants in my small greenhouse which are taking over but so far only flowers, no fruits.
It's the first time I've tried to grow them.

I've been using the fact that I'm quite far North as an excuse for my efforts - now you've gone and spoiled it all. What variety are you growing?

A few of mine have set fruit but nowhere near the size of some in the pictures.

First time I've ever grown them either... mine are fairly bushy but not very tall (about 2ft) and I've had loads of flowers but no fruit setting yet.

I was really hoping to have the green house up by now but it hasn't happened yet so I may bring one indoors to see if the increase in temperature helps.

Still got finger's crossed!
