  • How late can you plant maincrop potatoes

Hi everyone, what is the latest that maincrop spuds can be planted out, I still have some K Ed and romano laft, but no room just yet, have used up all the tubs etc, and waiting for my earlies and 2nd earlies to come out from the lottie and hope to chance it and use that space, ordered to many, and to tight to throw them away.

They will need 20 weeks of frost free conditions, so work out when your first frost usually is and count back 20 weeks from then. Plus bear in mind that late planted spuds will be growing when blight is more prevalent so they will probably need to be sprayed more.
