  • How to get a continuous crop?

My veggie patch is about 10ft (wide) & about 5ft (long). I am planting the usual carrots, cauliflower, spinach beet, onions, parsnip, cabbage, lettuce, things like that and I would like to know how to get a continuous crop? Once I have picked my veg do I just sow more?

i usually sow things like carrot, spring onions, beetroot and cut and come again lettuce (all are my favourite things) once a fortnight, and fingers crossed, should have a continuous crop!

Snager's Dual Cropping advice is very good - i'm definately going to try it. If you have got limited space in your veg beds you can still start most things off in modules and then pop them in when you get a space. I'd suggest you dig in a bit od fresh compost and a light sprinkle of BF+B to revitalise any recently vacated soil before your new babies go in.

Herby, You may find Mel Bartholomew's so called "Square Foot Gardening" relevant to your circumstances. I haven't seen his intense system mentioned much lately though it's one that has fundamentally influenced veg growing in many ways. Starter pack at
