  • How are everyones aubergines doing?

Mine took ages to germinate and now are really, really taking their time, some have only got a few leaves at this stage, they are on windowsills bt and are moved at night to avoid getting chilled.

On the upside my beefsteaks(toms) are are flying!

My Aubergines are flying now, they took almost a month to germinate. I've got them outside in my mini greenhouse full time. Been putting them outside when it's sunny.

Yeah Id say mine took that long too.

I think I might try putting them in the greenhouse during the day like im doing with my peppers etc as it heats up nicely, im not even sure why i havent been doing that now that I think, i guess the weather has been a bit dis-heartening, rain rain rain and barely any sunshine, but todays a bit brighter, how big are yours now?

Mine are already out in the ground, seduced by a brief warm spell.
It should be well in the twenties here by now, with warm nights. Today we made ten and it was 5 last night. They are not happy!

like with my tomatoes, since i have so many "red robins" i had a few in a windowbox and was putting them out during the day to harden off, withing half an hour windburn and they were in a sheltered "sunny" area

I'm growing Bonica and Ophelia... they have smaller fruit so might suit the shorter season up here.

Bionics for me too. My usual guru recommended them as the most reliable for this part of the world she ever tried. Getting nice and big now from an early sowing. First time so don't know what to expect. Got about ten plants :/
