  • How do you record your vegetable planting and progress etc

I have a lovely Garden Days Organiser diary by Judith Glover given to me last Xmas, despite hints no one bought one this year and unfortunately it is now out of stock. there were sections for each month at a glance where i recorded my sowings then i entered more detail on each of the dates , 2 pages per week. There was also space for notes at the end of each month I have searched for something similar and bought a Tashen diary but it misses the mmonth at a glance boxes. The Carol Klein and RHS diaries look similar to each other and too much like a manual.
    What do you use ?

A faux leather notebook with squared pages. Is very scruffy, annotations and notes are scrawled in. However, I was given an allotment journal this year. So I will be using that. Since it is fit for purpose, anything I write in there will be written in my best handwriting. Have already written in the runners and riders for both the chilli and tomato experiments. My rationale stems from writing up gcse science experiments and cooking recipes. If someone picked it up, would they be able to follow it and have the same potential results ^_^

I started a blog, but mostly it's mental. This coming year, I'm going to be doing a diary though.

HH which journal have you got, I'm still looking for perfect journal. Think it'll be a mix of pages downloaded from an on line diary + my new one

I just use the power of the force and blag it................

I do enough spreadsheets at work without doing anymore!

I start off with good intentions and then, come Mid March - chaos ensues and I just forget.

My shed door has pencil writings on it which are my records showing the spuds planted over the years. What else is a shed door for?

You'd need the Rosetta stone to decipher the heiroglypics on my shed door.

One day i may get round to phoning those scribbled down phone numbers to see who they actually belong to!

Two calenders in my shed last years for reference and this years for notes.

Plus a battered old A5 note book which records the highs and lows of the last number of years.

Finally every pot has its label with contents, dates etc.

Ah Sarah I think I used to have one of those, nowadays I have to have my pencil on a bit of string or I would forget where I had put it.
