  • Here today gone tomorrow

That's the story of my seedlings. A few days ago I transplanted to final position in Gh 2 courgettes. The following morning one had completely gone. No sign of trails. I inspected the house and sprinkled pellets in all the nooks and crannies. I replanted one yesterday and lo and behold it's gone again this morning. Apart from putting collars on does the spray repellent work.

How strange - I can't think what else other than sluggies that would eat a courgette unless a plucky wabbit somehow opened up your greeenhouse and snuck in. Isn't it still a bit cold for courgies though?

Mystery then. I know it is early but I got carried away sowing early chilli and tom seeds a month or so ago. So popped in anything and everything I could find. I wanted to try and extend their season.
Today I have collared them with cut lemonade bottles so we will see what tomorrow brings.

It is so many years since I have seen a meese Ann I can hardly remember what they look like. Mind you if you put tasty morsels out in their territory I suppose it's fair game.

can you put a plastic bag bottle over the top or are they too big. If it is mice that may hold em back a bit. and you would see chew marks if you use a bag.

I was thinking mice and plastic bottles too - plus the plastic mini cloche might help a bit with the cold evenings we still get?
