    Help a student gardener 2 ( Uni project research) Back AGAIN

    Thank-you to everyone who applied to my original post “HELP A STUDENT (UNI PROJECT)”
    I received a lot of really useful information.
    After reading through all comments I have a better understanding of what people would like/need.
    However I now need to be really direct, as I need to put my questions into a questionnaire format.
    So I am back…..

    I have written a series of questions (5 Questions ) below, which I would be really grateful if you could answer.
    To answer the questions, please write the question number and chose one of the noted response.
    For example:
    Q1 No
    Q2 Yes
    Q3 Maybe

    Questionnaire:
    Q1) Would you like/prefer a utilising system for growing vegetables, if you were limited for space, for example a small yard/Garden/Balcony?

    Not to sure:

    Q2) Would you prefer the item to be made from recycled materials?
    Yes:
    No:
    Not sure:
    Q3) Would you like the container to be self-watering?
    Yes:

    Not sure:

      Yes, sorry, that was my response too. Can you advise and then I would be happy to answer
      Actually, I've had another look and still would not be able to answer the rest of them

      - depends on cost

      - Hate to be so entirely unfashionable but i don't know the difference between modern and contemporary. I think I might get rustic, but not sure about vintage. Maybe some links for examples?

          Sorry - don't understand the question

          Yes, ideally.

          Q3) Would you like the container to be self-watering?
          Maybe - i.e. it would be a good feature but not necessarily an essential one (unless the containers were so small that without s/w you would have to be checking them umpteen times a day!) and would probably come down to weather it was worth any extra cost.

          Q4) Would you like to have a drying or root veg storing area?
          No
          (I'd be astonished if you could produce enough to worry about storage, as we are talking about growing on a balcony or in a small garden)

          Q5) What type of style would you prefer?
          Modern / contemporary (isn't that the same thing?)
          PS if "vintage" means something made out of oldish (but not rustic) reclaimed items that might catch my interest. I have visions of my small garden bursting with flowerpots made out of old pub signs...

            Hey Snadger, I was trying to be helpful

            Though I might be relatively new to gardening, I am not to designing questionaires/surveys; the object being to design/word them to enable as few 'don't knows' as poss, thus obtaining reasonable stats.

              Yes, but it wouldn't stop me buying it if wasn't.

              Q3) Would you like the container to be self-watering?
              Yes:- for holidays

              Q4) Would you like to have a drying or root veg storing area?

              No: - not necessary

              Q5) What type of style would you prefer?
              Modern: but size and space for growing would be more important to me

                I think Q1 is asking if you would like a product that allows you to grow veg in small space such as on a balcony etc. Is the first do you want it yes/no. If its a no I'd guess all other answers are a bit pointless!! I mean I'd like a Ferrari in black but I'm not going to be buying one! If everyone who does buy wants red why would Ferrari paint any other colour?! Sell to the buyers not the window shoppers!
