    Help - rotting tomatoes

    I am growing a number of tomato varieties in my greenhouse, one of which is a large oxheart type - Cuore dr Bue. They are growing well, but the two that are most advanced are rotting at the tips (see photos).





    Has anyone got any idea why this is happening?

    It looks like "blossom end rot". As I understand it's causes by inconsistent watering but here's what the RHS say about it:

    However the top photo does look like something else is going on too. Perhaps someone else will have a view.

      I agree with Wendy the bottom pic certainly looks like BER which is caused by the plant not taking up calcium. This can be inconsistent watering or a lack of calcium in the growing medium.

      The top one could be BER that's moved on or something worse, I would take the fruit off and keep a close eye on that plant.

        I find that some plants / varieties are more susceptible to blossom end rot than others, it doesn't always seem logical.

        Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

        Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

          Yep thats deffo ber, i bought a calcium additive for mine when it happened to me last year, ill grab the name of it in a sec.

          Its called "plant magic plus" mag-cal ie, for magnesium and calcium defficiancies, to late for last year but no problems so far this year, got it on amazon, search for free delivery.

            we have had a little bit of this so we took the bad ones off we normally water from the bottomg but have started watering form the top as this is supposed to stop it
