This is how I do it...
    1. Buy proper seed potatoes (I like Charlottes) Have never got my head around earlies, first earlies, main crop etc.
    2. Spread them out flat not touching in something like a tomato crate/box/thingy and keep in a cool darkish place (I've got a cellar so i'm lucky).
    3. Or alternatively dont bother to chit them.... depends on when you buy them....but if you buy them before you can plant them, then chit them.....
    4. Prepare bed by digging it over really well.
    5. Wait until March 15th ???Is it the 15th? something like that ...but no later than Easter...especially if Easter is late before planting.
    6. Knock off all chits but one.
    7. Make holes and plant.
    8. Start to earth up so you know where they are!
    9. Use bordelaise mixture if blight threatens.(its not technically organic but its not really nasty)
    10. Take advice from more than one person.......
    11. Keep us posted.......
PLEASE NOTE I AM AN AMATEUR.

I have a web page and video that might help.

          allaboutallotments_Vegetables_potatoes

I have a couple of builders half ton bags and intend to try potatoes in one as an experiment this year.

I will post the results onto the page.
