Radish grow really quickly in the spring. I think my first meal cooked with veg from the plot was stir fried radish, baby carrot and courgette, and it was lovely.

      www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk

and it has planners on there telling you when is the best time to plant certain things. But i don't know whether its correct or not

Last year was my first year on growing my own but like you i have grown up with having my father and grandfather grow there own veg and my dad told me alot of what he knows which is different to what it says on there.

But its a guide for you to look at hope it helps

There is also a sowing chart on here somewhere, if you do a search?

It's very cold just now Stace but you could try some lettuce, rocket, spring onions and pea shoots on the windowsill.
Once we get into Feb and there's a bit more light, since you have a greenhouse you could try some early carrots - they do quite well in pots, and some potatoes in buckets.
I think Pak Choi wold do OK in the greenhouse in Feb and they would give you a very quick crop.
Also chillies and peppers could be started on the windowsill now.
And there's the early tomato experiment we're running on here. It's not too late to join in.
                Good luck.
