Buddleia? That begins with a 'b' and attracts 'bees' and butterflies.

However I have no idea what that plant is!

Looks like Buddleia to me too. Likes a sunny spot, most get quite big, 6' plus. There are some dwarf ones around. Once established you can cut it back to about 1'.
